Often depicted in woodblock prints of courtesans and beautiful women from the Edo period, the vanity was an essential part of a woman's daily life. The vanity features four shallow drawers and one deep drawer, each fronted with stunning mulberry wood inlays showcasing a beautifully natural grain. The structure is in good condition, with minor wood shrinkage inside the drawers and slight wear to the top inlay—character marks that only add to its vintage charm.

The mirror, brackets, and decorative wooden strip are separate components. The decorative strip fits into the side of the brackets, which are then slid into the grooves at the top of the drawer section. The mirror is secured between the brackets using decorative, carved wooden screws—an elegant feature inspired by the Taisho era (1920s). The original mirror was damaged and has since been replaced with a new one, making this beautiful piece ready for immediate use.
